I see that most people suggest fitting a by pass on the exhaust to make it a bit more throaty. I have had alook under my 89 3.2  and cant see any other silencer on it apart from the rear box  all the other pipes seem to be straight through pipes where does the bypass fit?

Here's a standard exhaust setup for a 1984-1989 911 3.2 like yours:



You can see the cat as item 3.  If thats already gone, then the previous owner has beat you to it  :agree2:

So, is the rest standard?

If so then there are probable still some nice upgrades you could consider. M&K, SSI's Hayward and Scott......  Stainless steel provides a nice resonance and these exausts systems will give you a few more horses...
