I know it's not strictly a 911, but the 912 is very much based on a 911 and in many ways kept the company afloat while the 911 founds it's place in the market. Here's a little tribute video:

Some great shots of some lovely old classics, they dont get the recognition only because of snobbery. They are still quality classics in their own right. Nice to see them Pete.

I agree - the 912 is a great 911 IMO. Shame you don't see more of them. I saw the 912 mprofile over of the Porsche Folio, here: The 912 Porsche Folio. Great work Pete.
